Like many of my fellow die-hard Habs fans I was up way past my bedtime in anticipation of the news of some serious issues involving the young players on the team, fearing the absolute worst. I gave up at around 1:30am here in Halifax, knowing full well that Nebs would wake me up at 5am for breakfast and could check it then. I won't say what I was fearing I'd see this morning, but I will say that the news ranks for more on the level of Jose Theodore being associated with the HA than the Kobe Bryant bombshell. It's unsavoury, it's greasy, you don't want to see it, but it's much more of a distraction than something that will rock the foundation of the Montreal Canadiens organization.

I remember hearing about Theo being involved with the HA's. But what else is going on and with who? I was trying to find information but couldn't...

The reason that there's so little information about this is because there's very little actual news involved. In short, three players--Andrei & Sergei Kostitsyn, and Roman Hamrlik--know somebody that was arrested a couple weeks ago for drug smuggling.

Okay well that makes sense...
But... WTF? They just associated with this person? Or did they actually help them smuggle?

They know him, and he apparently has access to the Kostitsyns' financial records and some official Canadiens letterhead was found in documents seized at his home. The players haven't been charged, nor are they likely to be, with any criminal activities.
